Upon completion of the LLM requirements, students will receive the NUS LLB (Hons) and the NYU LLM.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<h5>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tCurriculum Matters\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/h5>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The credits read at NYU towards the LLM will count towards the NUS LLB degree as NUS 40 Units for students in the 4-year LLB. Courses completed at NYU do not count towards the LLB Class of Honours.\u200b<\/p>\n<p>Prior to embarking on the LLM programme, students are to ensure that you have attained a minimum of 120 Units (for 4-year LLB) at NUS. Further, the partner university may or may not offer courses that meet NUS Civil Law course requirement. As such, students are also strongly encouraged to fulfil your Civil Law course requirement at NUS to minimise the risk of not meeting graduation requirements of the LLB.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<h5>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tEligibility &#038; Application\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/h5>\n\t\t\t\t\tOnly students in Law 2 and Law 3 qualify for application.\u200b\nAll applicants for the NYU LLM must read carefully and follow the application procedures as detailed\u00a0on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.nyu.edu\/graduateadmissions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYU Graduate Admissions website<\/a>. Applicants must apply online and are required to use the\u00a0Law School Admission Council (LSAC) LLM Credential Assembly Service.\u200b\nIn summary, the steps are as follows:\n<ol>\n<li data-charcodes=\"65533,0,41\" data-buautonum=\"7\" data-margin=\"360\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">You are to inform NUS Law of your interest to apply for the NYU LLM programme via\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/myedurec.nus.edu.sg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EduRec<\/a>\u00a0(Login &gt; Self-Service &gt; Global Education &gt; External Study Application &gt; &#8220;Law Exchange\u00a0Plus\u00a0AY2026\/2027&#8221; OR &#8220;Law Exchange Plus AY2027\/2028&#8221;) by <b>Thursday, 6 November 2025<\/b>.\u00a0NOTE: Do not upload any documents in\u00a0EduRec\u00a0as all application documents for the NYU LLM\u00a0are to be submitted as hardcopies.\u200b<\/li>\n<li data-charcodes=\"65533,0,41\" data-buautonum=\"7\" data-margin=\"360\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">Register for the LSAC LLM Credential Assembly Service.\u200b<\/li>\n<li data-charcodes=\"65533,0,41\" data-buautonum=\"7\" data-margin=\"360\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">Submit application, including required materials, online via LSAC. Required materials include personal statement and resume. Hence, students must choose EITHER SEP OR the LLB-LLM programme.\u200b<\/p>\n<p>Students in Year 2 may concurrently apply for the SEP and the LLB-LLM but can only go for one\u00a0programme. The application outcome of the SEP and the LLB-LLM programmes are normally\u00a0made known sometime in January. At that point, if you are selected for both programmes, you\u00a0must decide which programme you will opt\u00a0for\u00a0and you must withdraw from the other\u00a0programme. You cannot hold on to both options.\u200b<\/p>\n<p>Thus, students who accept SEP will be precluded from pursuing the LLB-LLM programme.\u00a0Students who withdraw from the SEP to pursue the LLB-LLM programme where decisions on\u00a0their applications in Year 2 are deferred by NYU will be allowed to re-apply for exchange in Year\u00a03 to go on exchange in Semester 1 of Year 4, should their NYU applications be unsuccessful.\u00a0Re-application for exchange at this point will be subject to available places and it falling within\u00a0the possible application window period of partner universities<br \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>How will admission be assessed (i.e. what are my chances)?<\/b>\u200b<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You will apply to the LLM just like any other applicant in the world. The programme does not &#8220;reserve&#8221; a minimum (nor limit the maximum) number of spots for NUS law students. Its\u00a0advantage is that it facilitates earlier entry for NUS students even before graduation. Admission\u00a0will be assessed within the competitive pool of applicants applying to NYU&#8217;s LLM in any\u00a0particular year. For more information on admissions standard. For an estimate, please find out\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.nyu.edu\/financialaid\/budgetandbudgeting\/studentexpensebudget\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HERE<\/a>. NUS LLB tuition fees will not be payable for the semesters away at NYU.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Will there be scholarships available?<\/b>\u200b<br \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You will be entitled to compete for the same scholarships that are available to every other applicant to NYU&#8217;s LLM.
