The programme is intended for those who are unable to undergo a full graduate programme but who would like to take a particular graduate course.<\/p>\n<p>Participants will attend and observe courses taught by our instructors and which are conducted together with the LLB, JD, LLM and other graduate students. Applicants are exempted from course requirements (such as presentations, class projects, assignments or examinations) and are expected to abide by the guidelines of the respective course instructors on class participation. By applying or registering for a course, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.<\/p>\n<p><b>1.\u00a0 \u00a0Applications and Course Places<\/b><\/p>\n<p>1.1\u00a0 Submission of an application does not guarantee admission to any course.<br \/>1.2\u00a0 We do not reserve seats for applicants.<br \/>1.3\u00a0 Seats are secured only when:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">we issue an offer of admission or enrolment; and<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">full payment is received within the stipulated payment deadline stated in the offer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>1.4\u00a0 Seats are limited and are allocated on a first-paid, first-confirmed basis.<br \/>1.5\u00a0 If a course is fully subscribed, applicants may be placed on a waitlist at our discretion. and\u00a0<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"4\">have the required equipment, software, internet connectivity or technical set-up for online courses, if applicable.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>5.2\u00a0 We reserve the right to reject an application or refuse enrolment where an applicant does not meet course requirements or where the course is unsuitable for the applicant.<\/p>\n<p><b>6.\u00a0 \u00a0Course Changes<\/b><\/p>\n<p>6.1\u00a0 We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to a course where necessary, including changes to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">course schedule;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">course venue;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">trainer or facilitator;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">delivery mode, including changing from in-person to online or vice versa;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">course content or structure, provided the overall learning objectives are substantially maintained.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>6.2\u00a0 We will make reasonable efforts to inform participants of any material changes as soon as practicable.<\/p>\n<p><b>7.\u00a0 \u00a0Course Postponement or Cancellation<\/b><\/p>\n<p>7.1\u00a0 We reserve the right to postpone or cancel a course for reasons including but not limited to insufficient enrolment, trainer unavailability, venue issues, safety concerns, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.<br \/>7.2\u00a0 Where a course is postponed or cancelled by us, we may offer, at our discretion:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">a transfer to another run of the same course;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">a credit for future course use; or<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">a refund of the course fee paid for the affected course.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>7.3\u00a0 Unless required by law, our liability for a postponed or cancelled course shall be limited to the course fee paid to us for that course.<\/p>\n<p><b>8.\u00a0 \u00a0Refunds, Withdrawals, and Transfers<\/b><\/p>\n<p>8.1\u00a0 Any withdrawal, refund, or transfer request must be made in writing.<br \/>8.2\u00a0 Refunds and transfers are subject to the refund and transfer policy stated on our website or otherwise communicated in writing at the time of registration<br \/>8.3\u00a0 Unless otherwise stated in our refund policy or required by law:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"3\">no refund will be made for non-attendance and missed sessions;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"3\">no refund will be made after payment has been made; and<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"3\">transfer requests are subject to availability and our approval.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>9.\u00a0 \u00a0Substitutions<\/b><\/p>\n<p>9.1\u00a0 For corporate or group registrations, substitution of a participant may be permitted before the course starts, subject to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">written notice being given to us at least 3 working days in advance;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">the substitute meeting all course requirements;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">our approval; and<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">substitute completing all registration before course starts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>9.2\u00a0 We reserve the right to refuse a substitution where the substitute does not meet the course requirements or where substitution is not reasonably practicable.<\/p>\n<p><b>10.\u00a0 \u00a0Attendance and Certification<\/b><\/p>\n<p>10.1\u00a0 Participants must comply with the attendance, participation, and assessment requirements of the course.<br \/>10.2\u00a0 Certificates of attendance, participation, or completion will only be issued where the participant has met the relevant requirements for the course.<br \/>10.3\u00a0 No certificate will be issued where a participant fails to satisfy the stated requirements.<\/p>\n<p><b>11.\u00a0 \u00a0Participant Conduct<\/b><\/p>\n<p>11.1\u00a0 Participants are expected to behave respectfully and professionally towards trainers, staff, and other participants.<br \/>11.2\u00a0 The <a href=\"https:\/\/studentconduct.nus.edu.sg\/wp-content\/uploads\/NUS-Code-of-Student-Conduct.pdf\">Code of Learner Conduct<\/a>\u00a0is intended to guide learners&#8217; conduct by providing an overview of the behaviour generally expected of them as a member of the University community.<br \/>11.3\u00a0 We reserve the right to refuse admission to, or remove from a course, any participant whose behaviour is disruptive, abusive, unsafe, unlawful, or otherwise inappropriate.<br \/>11.4\u00a0 Unless required by law, no refund will be due where a participant is removed from a course due to misconduct.<\/p>\n<p><b>12.\u00a0 \u00a0Learning Materials and Intellectual Property<\/b><\/p>\n<p>12.1\u00a0 All course materials provided by us remain our property or the property of our licensors unless otherwise stated.<br \/>12.2\u00a0 Course materials are provided solely for the participant&#8217;s personal learning use or internal business use, as applicable, and must not be copied, reproduced, distributed, published, uploaded, recorded, sold, or shared without our prior written consent.<br \/>12.3\u00a0 Participants must not record any course session, whether by audio, video, screenshot, or other means, unless we have given prior written permission.<\/p>\n<p><b>13.\u00a0 \u00a0Online Courses and Technical Access<\/b><\/p>\n<p>13.1\u00a0 For online courses, participants are responsible for ensuring they have suitable internet access, compatible devices, software, and any other required technical capability.<br \/>13.2\u00a0 We are not responsible for a participant&#8217;s inability to attend or complete an online course due to the participant&#8217;s own technical issues, equipment failure, or internet connectivity problems. 13.3\u00a0 Technical difficulties experienced by participants do not constitute grounds for refund.<\/p>\n<p><b>14.\u00a0 \u00a0Personal Data<\/b><\/p>\n<p>14.1\u00a0 We may collect, use, store, and process personal data for purposes including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">processing applications and registrations;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">communicating with applicants and participants;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">administering courses;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">processing payments;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">issuing certificates; and<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">complying with legal or regulatory requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>14.2\u00a0 Our handling of personal data is in accordance with the requirements of the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Please refer to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nus.edu.sg\/ormc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/National-University-of-Singapore-NUS-Privacy-Notice-for-Course-Participants.pdf\">NUS Privacy Notice<\/a>\u00a0for the details.<\/p>\n<p><b>15.\u00a0 \u00a0Limitation of Liability<\/b><\/p>\n<p>15.1\u00a0 To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special loss, including loss of income, loss of business opportunity, or loss of data, arising from or in connection with a course or these Terms and Conditions.<br \/>15.2\u00a0 Our total liability to any applicant or participant in respect of any course shall not exceed the amount of the course fee actually paid to us for that course, except where such limitation is not permitted by law.<\/p>\n<p><b>16.\u00a0 \u00a0Force Majeure<\/b><\/p>\n<p>16.1\u00a0 We shall not be responsible for any delay, failure, postponement, or cancellation caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, public health events, government restrictions, labour disputes, technical failures, power outages, venue unavailability, or trainer illness.<\/p>\n<p>16.2\u00a0 In such circumstances, we may, at our discretion, reschedule the course, provide an alternative delivery mode, issue credit, or provide a refund.<\/p>\n<p><b>17.\u00a0 \u00a0Amendments<\/b><\/p>\n<p>17.1\u00a0 We may revise these Terms and Conditions from time to time.<br \/>17.2\u00a0 The version published on our website at the time of application or registration shall apply, unless otherwise stated.<\/p>\n<p><b>18.\u00a0 \u00a0Governing Law<\/b><\/p>\n<p>18.1\u00a0 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the applicable jurisdiction in which our business is established.<br \/>18.2\u00a0 Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive or non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction, as determined by applicable law.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<!-- \/content -->\n\t<!-- \/tabs -->\n<h3>\n\t\tSILE-CPD Points\n\t<\/h3>\n\t<p>Participants who wish to obtain CPD Points are reminded that they must comply strictly with the Attendance Policy set out in the CPD Guidelines. For participants attending face-to-face classes, this includes signing in on arrival and signing out at the conclusion of the activity in the manner required by the organiser, and not being absent from the entire activity for more than 15 minutes. For participants attending webinars, this includes logging in at the start of the webinar and logging out at the conclusion of the webinar in the manner required by the organiser, and not being away from the entire activity for more than 15 minutes. Course convenors are entitled to decline to offer consultations or take specific questions on matters that are not relevant to the course syllabus or pedagogical objectives. In particular, auditing is not a legitimate means to develop competing or in-house training programmes on the same subject matter. This may amount to a breach of copyright or plagiarism and may be dealt with accordingly.<\/li>\n<li>Overseas applicants are not eligible to apply for Student Visa. They will be required to apply for their own entry Visas \/ Visit Passes from the Immigration &amp; Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
