Adjunct Professor

Eric Teo is the Founding Chairman of the IVSC Membership and Standards Recognition Board and IVAS. Eric is a Senior Consultant in Savills and was formerly the firm’s Head of Business Valuation and Advisory practice in Southeast Asia. Prior to this, Eric was the Executive Director of Ernst & Young (EY) Valuation and Business Modelling (VBM) practice and has worked in both the Singapore and Australia practices. Whilst with EY, he has led the EY Asia Pacific VBM Technical Standards Committee. Eric has conducted business valuation for transactions and financial reporting for companies from various industries and his clients include SMEs, GLCs, MNCs, and public listed groups. Apart from professional practice, Eric also sits on various boards and committees, and is actively involved in the education and professional development space. He has worked with institutes of higher learning, professional organisations, government agencies and regulatory bodies in Singapore and the region. Apart from being an Adjunct Professor at NUS, he is currently also an Adjunct Faculty with Nanyang Technological University, Singapore University of Social Sciences, and Singapore Institute of Technology. Eric holds the designation of CVA Singapore, Fellow CA Singapore, Fellow CA ANZ, Fellow CPA Australia, and Senior Fellow, FINSIA.

Eric Teo is a valuation professional with more than 30 years of work experience.  He is also involved in academia and is an Adjunct Professor/Associate Professor/Faculty at various universities which includes Nanyang Technological University, National University of Singapore, Singapore Institute of Technology, Singapore Management University and Singapore University of Social Sciences.   He has served as consultant to regulators and institutions in Singapore and the region, and has provided training to organisations such as Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA), Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS), Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), Singapore Academy of Law (SAL), Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) etc.

He is currently a Senior Consultant with the Business Valuation & Advisory practice at Savills and was formerly the Head of the practice in Southeast Asia.  Prior to this, he was an Executive Director with Ernst & Young (EY) Transaction Advisory Services Group and had worked in both the Singapore and Australia practices. He was a founding member of EY Global Valuation & Business Modelling (VBM) Network’s Technical Standards Group (TSG), had served in the Steering Committee and led the EY Asia Pacific VBM TSG from 2012 to 2015. He was also a member of the EY Global VBM Learning & Development committee and was involved in the development of learning curriculum and training materials for the global valuation practice.

Eric’s experience includes providing advice in relation to corporate strategy, investments and divestitures, fairness opinions and business valuation. He has led in transactions relating to litigation support, tax planning, restructuring and compliance, capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder disputes and financial reporting.  Eric worked with companies from various industries and his clients include SMEs, GLCs, MNCs and public listed groups.
