Description
The Asian Privacy Scholars Network aims to further the study of personal data protection, privacy, and surveillance in countries of the Asia-Pacific region, through conferences, publications and networking. It is predominantly comprised of academic scholars, but also includes some scholars from government, NGOs and business. You can find out more about the APSN here – http://asianprivacy.org
Theme of Conference
The theme of the 8th APSN Conference is “Privacy, Confidence & Data Protection in the 21st Century”. This theme encourages the submission of papers covering contemporary issues relating to invasion of privacy, the breach of confidence action and data protection legislation. It welcomes a wide range of submissions for the parallel sessions, from theoretical papers that interrogate conceptual frameworks to practical analyses of personal data protection legislation such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and comparable national regulatory regimes. Papers from non-legal scholars are welcomed.
