Joshua is a Senior Lecturer and Co-Director of the New Zealand Centre for Intellectual Property in the Faculty of Law at the University of Auckland. He is also the Academic Editor of the Faculty of Law’s SSRN Research Paper Series.

As a researcher Joshua examines issues in copyright law, contract law and emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence. His work has been published in leading journals and edited collections.

Joshua teaches Contract Law and Privacy Law in the LLB programme, and Copyright and Design in the LLB and Master of Intellectual Property programmes. He is also a Senior Fellow at Melbourne Law School, where he teaches copyright courses in the Melbourne Law Masters and Juris Doctor programmes.

Joshua has a PhD and a BA/LLB (Hons) from Monash University (Melbourne, Australia), where he won the Mollie Holman Medal for the best Law thesis at Monash University in 2021. He is also admitted to practise law in Victoria and New Zealand.
