Advanced Issues in the Law & Practice of Int'l Arbitration

Jonathan Lim is Counsel with Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP in London. A triple-qualified lawyer (England & Wales, New York and Singapore), his practice focuses on complex international disputes. He has represented governments and private corporations in commercial and investment arbitrations under all major arbitration rules sited across Africa, Asia, Europe and South America. He has also advised governments in Africa and Asia on a range of public international law issues and the drafting of arbitration legislation. He has also represented governments in WTO dispute settlement matters and is a member of the team representing Somalia in its WTO accession process.

In addition to his practice as counsel, Jonathan has a developing practice as arbitrator, with appointments as sole and party-appointed arbitrator in Europe and Asia. He is also Co-Chair of the Asia-Pacific Forum on International Arbitration and serves on the YSIAC and CIArb YMG committees. He is listed in Who’s Who Legal 2018-2020 as a Future Leader in International Arbitration, with clients describing him as “a very smart all-round lawyer” who “provides top-of-the-class legal and strategic advice,” and “a sure bet as a future global leader.”

Jonathan was educated at the National University of Singapore and the Harvard Law School.
