Shirin 

CHUA

Shirin Chua is a Research Associate at the Centre for Asian Legal Studies at the National University of Singapore. She obtained her LL.B from the National University of Singapore and her LL.M in International Legal Studies from New York University School of Law, where she was a Hauser Global Scholar.

Prior to joining CALS, Shirin worked at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Paris, France, where she practised public international law, international investment arbitration and international commercial arbitration. She previously worked at the International Affairs Division of the Attorney-General’s Chambers of Singapore, and also served as a law clerk to the Chief Justice and the Judges of the Supreme Court of Singapore.

Shirin is admitted to the Singapore and the New York Bars, and is currently a Legal Adviser at Independent International Legal Advocates, a New York-based organisation that works with small and developing countries to enhance their capacity, and therefore facilitate their effective participation, in the creation and application of international law.
