David Silverlid is a Doctor of Laws Candidate in International Law and the Course Director for Public International Law at Örebro University. He earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) Degree as a Fulbright Scholar from UCLA School of Law and has held positions at the ICRC Delegation to the United Nations in New York and the Department for International Law at Sweden’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs. He has served as Country Director for an American NGO that investigated mass atrocities and trained lawyers and human rights defenders in international law in East Africa and Southeast Asia and conducted research for the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia, and Related Intolerance. David is also the Secretary of the Swedish Branch of the International Law Association and has been a Visiting Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg, Germany.
