Jolene Lin is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore (NUS) and Director of the Asia Pacific Centre for Environmental Law. She received her PhD from Erasmus University Rotterdam, LLM from New York University and LLB from the London School of Economics. Jolene is also an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore.

Jolene Lin is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore (NUS) and Director of the Asia Pacific Centre for Environmental Law. She received her PhD from Erasmus University Rotterdam, LLM from New York University and LLB from the London School of Economics. Jolene is also an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore.
Jolene’s research focuses on climate change litigation and transnational climate change law. Her research has been published in leading international journals such as the Journal of Environmental Law, the American Journal of International Law and the European Journal of International Law. Recent publications include Governing Climate Change: Global Cities and Transnational Lawmaking (Cambridge University Press 2018), Climate Change Litigation in the Asia Pacific (Cambridge University Press 2020) and Litigating Climate Change in the Global South (Oxford University Press 2024) which won the 2025 European Society of International Law Collaborative Book Prize and the 2025 Australia and New Zealand Society of International Law Book Prize.
Jolene is a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Environmental Law, Transnational Law, the Chinese Journal of Environmental Law and Climate Law. Given her interest in the role of law in advancing climate action, Jolene serves on the global advisory board of Climate Change Legal Initiative (C2LI). Jolene is also a member of the Academic Circle supporting the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to development (2024-2026) and Vice-Chair of the International Chamber of Commerce Global Environment and Energy Commission. She has delivered public lectures at Yale Law School, University College London and the Sorbonne Abu Dhabi.
At NUS, Jolene teaches tort law and climate change law. She received the NUS Faculty of Law’s Teaching Excellence Award in 2020 and 2023. The award is given by NUS Law to recognise faculty members who have demonstrated a high level of commitment to teaching.
