Crystal Tan '10 receives Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship to Harvard Law

Congratulations to Crystal Tan Yan Shi '10 on receiving the 2016 Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship to pursue the LLM at Harvard Law School! Crystal graduated with First Class Honours from NUS Law in 2010 (placed in the top 5% of the graduating cohort), and served as a Justices' Law Clerk and Assistant Registrar at the Supreme Court of Singapore. She is presently a Deputy Public Prosecutor and Deputy Senior State Counsel at the Attorney General's Chambers (AGC), conducting criminal prosecution in the State and High Courts, and criminal and magistrate appeals in the High Court and Court of Appeal.

NUS Law Tops IASLA Space Law Moot Court Competition

NUS have once again emerged victorious in the recent International Air and Space Law Academy (IASLA) Space Law Moot Court Competition! The team of Year 2 students - Kiu Yan Yu '18, Ong Chee Yeow '18, Ephraim Tan '18 and Manfred Lum '18 have done the faculty proud by winning the competition! Dr Ricky Lee, the Principal Administrator of the IASLA Space Law Moot, presented the trophy to NUS Law on 23 June 2016.

NUS Spurs Interest in Law Specialisations, Honours Past Law Professors

NUS Law will be introducing six new subject prizes to recognise students who excel in six subjects, namely intellectual property law, carriage of goods by sea, charterparties, international commercial litigation, law of torts and freedom of speech. These awards have been established through generous gifts totalling S$90,000 from institutions and donors who have a keen interest in legal education and the nurturing of top legal talent.

NUS Law’s Timothee Yap Heads to the Olympics!

NUS Law is proud to share that Timothee Yap '19 will be making his Olympic debut in the upcoming Rio Games. Timothee will take part in the 100m sprint. "It's a huge privilege. Going to the Olympics is every athlete's dream, and even more of a blessing since I switched to the 100m only last year," said Timothee, who has just completed his first year at NUS Law.

Surprise Proposal at the Moot Court!

Armed with balloons, photos, a birthday cake, flowers and not forgetting their band, Isaac Chua '14 and his friends decorated the NUS Law's Moot Court to surprise a special someone on her birthday - and it turned out to be the most memorable event of their lives! After the band performed three songs (one of which was specially composed for the birthday girl, Wu Wenyu '15), Isaac in true gentlemanly fashion got down on one knee and popped the big question. Congratulations to the both of them!
