Regulatory Protections against Payment Fraud: an International Perspective by Dr Sandra Booysen

On 25 March 2025, Dr Sandra Booysen, Director of the Centre for Banking and Financial Law (CBFL), delivered a public seminar at the University of Cape Town on regulatory responses to payment fraud. Addressing an audience of academics, students, and legal professionals, Dr Booysen highlighted the growing threat of payment fraud, which causes billions in financial losses globally and significant emotional distress for victims.
