Special issue of the European Business Organization Law Review on Sustainable Finance by Lin Lin

March 28, 2022 | Research

CBFL congratulates Assoc Professor Lin Lin and Professor Iris Chiu (UCL Faculty of Laws) on their co-edited publication of the ‘Sustainable Finance’, a special issue of the European Business Organization Law Review (Vol 23, issue 1).

About this issue

There is a marked global trend of investment assets moving into ‘ESG’ (environmental, social and governance) or ‘sustainable’ investing strategies. Recent legal and regulatory developments have shown that we now need to consider how finance should interact with the wider public interest and social good in creating a sustainable future. This requires us to identify the role of ‘core valued goals’ in sustainable finance. The identification of these goals is a key issue moving forward since the goals, and assumed goals, of an activity have profound impact on how we regulate sustainable finance and the resulting behaviour on the part of investors.

This volume edited by Lin Lin and Iris Chiu brings together leading thinkers to evaluate a broad perspective on the connection between finance and sustainability, as well as discussions on the recent legal and regulatory developments in key sustainable finance markets, i.e., the EU and the Asia-Pacific, including China.
