CLT History-Theory Workshop

At the Centre for Legal Theory seminar held on 11 February 2026 at the National University of Singapore, Professor Norman Ho from Peking University School of Transnational Law gave a seminar on the relationship between legal history and legal theory.

The seminar expounds on the 3 possible ways to view the relationship between legal history and legal theory. Namely that (1) there is no relationship between them, (2) there is a strong relationship between them or that (3) there could be a strong relationship between them depending on what the topic is and what the aims of the topic are as expounded by Maksymilian Del Mar and Michael Lobban in: LAW IN THEORY AND HISTORY: NEW ESSAYS ON A NEGLECTED DIALOGUE (2016).
