My main teaching and research areas are criminal law, jurisprudence and moral, political and legal philosophy. Particularly, I am interested in why punishment can be justified, what kind of behaviours should be criminalised and what functions the criminal law and criminal justice institutions play in a community. Currently I am working on a political account of legal moralism, exploring its implications on punishment, criminalisation and criminal justice policy.
