Description

An important milestone in the struggle against climate change was reached in December 2018, when the international community of states agreed on a set of rules by which to operationalize the Paris Agreement on Climate Change of 2015. To mark this momentous occasion, APCEL is convening an international workshop of climate change law scholars and climate change negotiators from around the world, at which papers on the legal aspects of the “Paris Rulebook” will be presented and critiqued. The workshop will be facilitated by Professor Jolene Lin, National University of Singapore, and Professor Alexander Zahar, Wuhan University, China. The scholarly work finalized at this workshop will be published shortly thereafter as a special issue of Climate Law, the leading journal in this field of law. Through this process, APCEL will contribute to the early clarification and further development of the law governing the international response to one of the gravest problems of our times.
