This seminar will look at some of the issues noted by the High Court in the recent case of Chia Hang Kiu v Chia Kwok Yeo [2016] SGHC 198 pertaining to indefeasibility of title brought about by earlier Court of Appeal conflicting decisions. Relevant cases from other jurisdictions will also be considered. Another aspect which will be discussed is the recent legislative change made in 2016 to the Housing Developers Rules allowing a sub-purchaser to exercise the rights of an original purchaser under the defects liability period before its expiry.
