Description
The Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”), which establishes Singapore’s general data protection regime, has recently been subject to a number of substantial amendments pursuant to the Personal Data Protection (Amendment) Act 2020 (the “Amendment Act”). The amendments contained in the Amendment Act are wide-ranging, including important new exceptions to the Consent Obligation and a new mandatory data breach notification requirement, among other changes.
This seminar will seek to provide participants with a comprehensive review of the amendments that have been made to the PDPA, along with an explanation of the potential practical significance of those amendments. Reference will be made to relevant guidelines from the Personal Data Protection Commission.
