Overview

The NUS Law Academy partners with the NUS School of Continuing & Lifelong Learning (SCALE)-Global team and other organisations to organise bespoke law programmes for learners from around the world.

NUS Youth Programme

Organised by the SCALE-Global team, the range of NUS Youth Programmes are more than just educational programmes for youths from Singapore and around the world. NUS Youth Programmes are one’s window to the world. They are specially curated for youths to find out about impact – the impact they want to make for their future – and to make better decisions. NUS Youth Programmes also provide participants the opportunity to get acquainted with the NUS experience – NUS’ culture of innovation, academic excellence and global responsibility.

The NUS Law Academy collaborates with SCALE-Global to offer online law courses.

Indian Corporate Law Programme

The predecessor Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programme of NUS Law organised attachment programmes for officers of the Indian Corporate Law Services (ICLS) in 2019 and 2020. Lasting nine days, the programme is part of the training for ICLS officers, with the objective of enabling them to obtain a better understanding of company law, practice and regulation in a foreign jurisdiction such as Singapore. It included sessions by NUS faculty members as well as practitioners, and visits to courts and certain regulatory bodies.

Thai Office of the Council of State Programme

Bespoke workshops were organised in 2018 and 2019 for government officials from Thailand by NUS Law Academy’s predecessor, the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) division of the NUS Law Faculty. Officers from the Thai Office of the Council of State attended 2-day themed workshops, conducted by Faculty members and subject matter experts, focusing on environmental law (2018) and cross border insolvency and finance laws (2019). The 2018 workshop covered biological diversity laws and  included a short guided tour of the Ethnobotany gardens at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which is located adjacent to the NUS Law Faculty.
