Overview

Human resource (HR) professionals deal with personal data on a regular basis. For example, HR professionals must handle significant amounts of employee data, as well as the personal data of job applicants. Basic knowledge of the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) is therefore a valuable asset for HR professionals.

This course is designed to teach HR professionals how to comply with the PDPA in their job tasks. Taught by a data protection law specialist, this course will provide participants with a step-by-step walkthrough of PDPA compliance. At the end of this 1-day course, participants should understand how to achieve essential compliance with the data protection obligations of the PDPA, within the context of their HR responsibilities.

Learning Objectives

Through this full-day workshop, participants will:

  1. Understand the scope and obligations of the PDPA.
  2. Understand how the PDPA applies to their work as HR professionals.
  3. Develop effective strategies to comply with the PDPA when carrying out HR responsibilities.
