What Our Students Say

Student01

Upon entering NUS Law, I was immersed in a warm and vibrant community, rich with orientation activities and mentorship programmes. Law school is undeniably difficult at times, but I've always found myself surrounded by friends and seniors who carried me through challenges and celebrated my successes. This profound sense of camaraderie and belonging inspired me to step forward as the Freshmen Orientation Central Committee Chairperson in my first year. It was a privilege to work with a passionate team of leaders, united by the same desire to create meaningful experiences for the incoming freshmen and to help them find their own place within this nurturing community.

Going for competitions is a good way to immerse yourself in the rich and dynamic heritage of NUS Law. Our illustrious reputation on the international stage is because of those who have gone before us; we stand on the shoulders of giants, and I've found it a privilege to glean insights from the dedicated alumni. Competing has sharpened my critical thinking skills and honed my eloquence. But more than accolades, it is about the experiences gained along the way. I've made friends with fellow competitors from other countries and benefited from international perspectives. In turn, I find it extremely fulfilling to give back by coaching juniors and peers and seeing them succeed.

From participating in the Nuremberg Moot Court to winning the ASEAN Moot, I could not have achieved all this without the extensive support of the law school; professors and alumni took the time to give direction, helping to refine my team's arguments. The Centre for Future-ready Graduates is another invaluable source of guidance for undergraduates, and they helped me when I was trying to find my footing in school. For anyone looking to broaden their academic horizons and to be a better litigator, NUS Law is the place to be. You will be in the company of like-minded peers and I am grateful that the school opened the doors to numerous mooting opportunities.

NUS Law's vibrant student lifestyle and strong alumni network are showcased through major school events like the annual Law Careers Fair. By leading the planning of the fair in 2024, I got to work closely with a variety of local and international law firms, as well as recently graduated alumni, to create meaningful engagement opportunities. I've also seen the respect that the legal industry holds for an NUS Law education, as law firms across diverse fields come to the school to speak to us yearly. The school's dynamic environment has sharpened my leadership skills and deepened my understanding of the legal landscape, equipping me for a successful legal career.
