
Aina HANISSA
Aina is a research fellow at Humboldt University of Berlin, where she is completing her doctoral research as part of the ‘DynamInt’ group, a German Research Foundation (DFG) funded research group. Aina’s research focusses on the use of EU law as a defence in arbitration. She comes to NUS having spent the Fall Term 2024 in New York as a Visiting Scholar at Columbia Law School.

She holds an LL.M. in International Dispute Resolution from Humboldt University of Berlin and completed her Bachelor of Laws at University College Cork, Ireland and Université de Montréal, Canada.
Until 2022, Aina was an Academic Coordinator and adjunct lecturer at the International Dispute Resolution LL.M. Program at Humboldt University of Berlin. Aina has coached various teams for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot and now continues to support mooting as a board member of the Humboldt Moot Association.
