Alexius graduated from the National University of Singapore with Double Honours Degrees in Law and Economics; Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and Bachelor of Economics (Distinction Honours).

After completing his training at Allen & Gledhill in 2018 in Corporate Law, Competition and Antitrust, Alexius set his sights on attaining litigation experience with Rajah & Tann Singapore, specializing in both contentious and non-contentious employment and corporate law.

On the contentious side, Alexius has represented both employers and employees in disputes before the Court of Appeal, the High Court and state courts, as well as in engaging with the Ministry of Manpower and other regulatory bodies in Singapore. Alexius also provides advice with respect to employment disputes and claims lodged with the employment claims tribunals.

On the non-contentious side, Alexius provides advice to Companies on regulatory employment or corporate issues such as data protection, fair and best employment practices, manpower restructuring and internal corporate investigation measures and procedures. He has also been appointed as an independent investigator for the conduct of corporate investigations.

Alexius also has a keen interest in mediation, especially given the closely personal nature of employment disputes, and is an accredited international mediator with the Singapore International Mediation Institute.

Alexius has garnered experience in both high profile corporate matters such as the Grab-Uber Merger 2018, as well as contentious litigation disputes and conduct of anonymous whistleblowing investigations which were notified to the Ministry of Manpower and Monetary Authority of Singapore.  He has represented international listed clients and groups in myriad of corporate and litigation matters, including:

  • Conducting a corporate investigation for a Singapore subsidiary of a listed international banking group with over US$2 trillion in assets;
  • Conducting a corporate investigation for a Reinsurance Group (World Top 50 Reinsurer) with over US$2 billion in assets; and
  • Represented an international bank specialising in fund distribution networks and platform with over €1.3 trillion in assets under administration against its former Regional Managing Director in an employment dispute of over S$19 million.

In his personal life, Alexius is an avid boxer who has entered the ring in multiple amateur bouts. However, he prefers to leave any legal fisticuffs confined to the boardroom, or courtroom, if necessary.
