Regulation of Digital Platform

John Newman is Associate Professor of Law at the University of Miami School of Law and a fellow with the Thurman Arnold Project at Yale. His current scholarly focus is on the economics and regulation of digital markets and platforms, with a particular emphasis on antitrust and competition law. Prior to joining academia, Professor Newman practiced with the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division (entry via the Honors Program). He also currently serves on the advisory boards of the American Antitrust Institute and the Institute for Consumer Antitrust Studies, and regularly advises private-sector clients on antitrust-related matters.

During his academic career, Professor Newman has received a number of honors and awards, including the Academic Society for Competition Law Best Junior Paper Award, the SEALS Call-for-Papers Award, the Farris Bobango Faculty Scholarship Award, and the Professor of the Year Award.
