Shermila Antony is a Lecturer in the Department of Private and Comparative Law, Faculty of Law, University of Colombo (UOC). She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree with First Class Honours from the Faculty of Law, UOC, and a Master of Laws Degree from the Harvard Law School. She teaches Labour Law, Family Law, Introduction to the Legal System of Sri Lanka, and International Human Rights Law.

Shermila has served as a Legal Advisor and Consultant to several government ministries, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Former Ministry of Constitutional Affairs and National Integration, and provided technical support and expertise to several UNDP and USAID-assisted projects. She is the author of several research and academic publications. She is currently reading for her PhD, and her research interests include women and work in pre- and post-colonial Sri Lanka.
