HSF-PLDG Seminar: The Variety of Anti-Suit Injunctions

The Private Law Discussion Group (PLDG) at NUS Law is pleased to collaborate with Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer Prolegis LLC Alliance and Singapore Management University to organise a panel discussion on “The Variety of Anti-Suit Injunctions”. The event was held at Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer’s Singapore office on 30 September 2025, and was attended by over 60 practitioners and academics. The event was also supported by the Singapore Chapter of the International Law Association and brought together leading voices to explore the evolving landscape of anti-suit injunctions in international commercial litigation and arbitration.
The distinguished panel consists of: Adrian Briggs KC (University of Oxford), Steven Elliott KC (National University of Singapore), and Yeo Tiong Min SC (Singapore Management University), and moderator, Assistant Professor Marcus Teo of the National University of Singapore. Together, the panel addressed contractual anti-suit injunctions, injunctions against vexatious foreign proceedings, and those restraining abuses of forum processes, offering valuable insights into the elements, common threads, and the role of comity in private international law.
Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer Prolegis LLC Alliance remains committed to supporting thought leadership and meaningful dialogue within the legal community in Singapore and beyond.
