Min-Liang Tan fronts inaugural TechTalk@TRAIL
The global gaming industry is increasingly embracing the use of artificial intelligence (AI), from how games are developed and tested, to how players may enjoy personalised and adaptive experiences. At the same time, the growing use of generative AI has prompted much discussion within the industry and among gaming communities about responsible use and the need for appropriate guardrails.
On 16 April 2026, TRAIL launched TechTalk@TRAIL, a talkshow billed as “Where tech leaders meet leading lawyers”. NUS Law and TRAIL are excited to welcome back its illustrious alumnus Min-Liang Tan (LLB 2002), Co-Founder and CEO of Razer Inc, for a candid conversation with Professor Tan Cheng Han, President of the Law Society of Singapore, to discuss the issues relating to AI, gaming and the law. The talkshow was hosted by Professor David Tan, Co-Director of TRAIL, who is also the executive producer of TechTalk@TRAIL. The video of the talkshow will be available on YouTube by the end of the month.
The live audience, who included Razer fans sporting iconic black-and-green t-shirts, at the YNC Hall at Kent Ridge had the opportunity to ask Min-Liang many questions ranging from companion avatars to sustainability goals.
Tan Wee Liang (LLB 2022), who managed to get his Razer mousepad autographed, said: “As a long-time Razer supporter, it’s a very exciting opportunity for me to see and hear Min-Liang in person! I got many interesting insights from him as he answered my questions on how AI can support the gamer-focused ecosystem and his social media engagement with fans. Unfortunately though, there’s no update on Project Breadwinner: the long-awaited, fan-favourite Razer toaster!”
The discussion with Min-Liang and Cheng Han covered how advances in AI are influencing the both the gaming and legal industries, touching on topics such as the use of generative AI applications for Razer’s Project Ava and Project Motoko, and the displacement of junior associates in law firms.
