NUS-Sydney Law Symposium 2018
The biennial NUS-Sydney Law Symposium took place this year between 28-29 September at Sydney Law School with the theme: “Multiple Perspectives on the Criminal Law”. Convened by David Hamer, Thomas Crofts and Mark McBride, the symposium explored a kaleidoscope of issues relating to theories of criminal liability and different kinds of crimes. Participants from NUS Law were Professor James Penner (Vice Dean (Research)), Professor David Tan (Vice Dean (Academic Affairs)), Professor Ho Hock Lai and Assistant Professor Mark McBride.
Papers presented in the roundtable format include topics such as revenge porn, misconduct in the banking & financial services sector, contempt of court, voluntariness in confessions, expert evidence, the culture defence and causation in criminal law.
