Description

This presentation gives an insight into what happens when there is an oil pollution incident in Singapore waters. The example of an oil spill which occurred just before Chinese New Year 2017 will form the focus of this presentation. It is a good example of an oil spill affecting both Singapore and Malaysia as 300 tonnes of oil were spilt into the water when two container vessels collided off Pasir Gudang Port in the Johor Strait. The seminar will give an overview of the various aspects involved from clean-up to claims and will assist in understanding how such an incident is handled by P&I correspondents, experts and government agencies. Three industry speakers – a P&I correspondent, a lawyer, and SCR (Special Casualty Representative) will provide an overview of what is involved from an insurance, legal and technical perspective.
