Abstract: This chapter provides a quick overview of the Singapore competition law framework and briefly summarizes some of the key developments that have taken place in the first ten years of the law coming into force. It explains the socioeconomic context of Singapore’s competition law framework, the whole-of-the-economy perspective taken by the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore and some of the changes made to the Anglo-European framework upon which the Singapore framework was modelled. Some attention is also paid to the role of Singapore’s competition policy as part of the wider set of macroeconomic policies that have, collectively, shaped the competitiveness of the country as a whole.
