We are proud to announce the results of the CMS Intellectual Property Moot 2022. The local competition saw 57 competitors battling it out and after several gruelling online rounds, the finals were held on the 21 January 2022 live at the Wee Chong Jin Moot Court at NUS Law.

The top 4 finalists engaged each other on an interesting problem involving the topic of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and intellectual property law. After an exciting performance by the finalists, NUS Law would like to congratulate our winners for their rousing performance at the finals!

“Are AI-generated artworks protected by copyright? Do NFT purchasers obtain copyright (or merely bragging rights) in their “unique” images? It’s amazing to think that these immensely important modern problems were not long ago considered futuristic and academic. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to have tested my answers to these questions against a panel of some of the brightest IP minds in Singapore.”– Kevin Tang ’23

The winners would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the Grand Final judges for taking time out of their busy schedule to judge the finalists and provide insightful feedback on their performance. They would also like to thank CMS Singapore and the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore for sponsoring the CMS IP Moot 2022.
