Associate Professor Eleanor Wong ’85 (Vice Dean, Student Life & Global Relations) and Sheridan Fellow Benny Tan ’12 were awarded the NUS Annual Teaching Excellence Award (ATEA) for their high level of commitment and dedication to their teaching. The ATEA highlights the importance that NUS accords to teaching and sends clear signals to the teaching community about what the institution regards as high quality teaching.

Eleanor was also placed on the National University of Singapore’s Honour Roll for Sustained Excellence in Teaching in 2019, having been awarded the University’s Annual Teaching Excellence Award on three prior occasions (since AY 03/04).

Eleanor and Benny delivered their respective talks at the NUS Learning on Campus event on 19 November. Eleanor gave a talk on “Teaching controversial, challenging and sensitive topics in Law school – Some pedagogical findings”, while Benny presented on “Using student portfolios to emphasize learning growth over academic results”.
