The latest cohort at the Freshmen Inauguration Ceremony

NUS Law warmly welcomed its latest cohort of students at this year’s Freshmen Inauguration Ceremony, held on 6 August.
Dean Simon Chesterman started off the ceremony with an introduction on what awaited them during their journey at NUS Law. He encouraged them to have fun and participate in social activities at the faculty while they managed the rigours of academic life.

Echoing his sentiments was guest-of-honour, the Honourable Justice Chao Hick Tin who was recently conferred the Doctor of Laws at this year’s commencement ceremony. Justice Chao shared that this would be a golden period in their lives, and the balance between work and play was key. He emphasised the importance of building friendships among their peers, whom they would likely continue to work with in the near future.

Giving the freshmen an insight into student life was NUS Law Club President, Lim Jun Heng ’20. He introduced them to a variety of student clubs and activities available at the school. The freshmen were later invited on stage for a “badge pinning ceremony” to officially welcome them as NUS Law students.

We wish all freshmen an enriching and enjoyable time at NUS Law!
