Commending the graduates for their resilience, grit and discipline, Mr How Kwang Hwee stated: “The work of investigators has become more challenging. Cases have become more complex. Public scrutiny has become higher. It is thus important that we maintain a high quality of investigation to continue to maintain a high level of public trust and support in the SPF. Investigation officers need to possess not just good investigative skills and knowledge of the law from the law enforcement perspective; they must also understand legal requirements and prosecution processes from the judicial point-of-view. As graduates of the GCCJ programme, you would have acquired in-depth legal knowledge that will aid you and the Home Team in conducting high quality investigations and working closely with AGC in the prosecution process.”

Speaking as the Class Representative, Mr Oh Yong Yang related the unique experiences as an adult learner in the programme – “the adrenaline rush which we get from navigating through the peak hour traffic to get to class in time, finding the highly coveted vacant carpark lot right outside the lecture theatres block, overcoming curious stares from young law undergraduates when they share the same lift as the casually dressed uncles and aunties who were heading to the seminar room on level 5 and not forgetting the pulsating drama of meeting the deadlines to submit the assignments and exam papers.”
