Mindy Chen-Wishart appointed Dean of Oxford Law Faculty

Professor Mindy Chen-Wishart

NUS Law congratulates Mindy Chen-Wishart, who has been appointed Dean of the Oxford Law Faculty, with effect from October 2020.

Mindy is a Professor of the Law of Contract at Oxford University and a Tutorial Fellow in Law at Merton College. Since 2006 she has also held a fractional appointment as a Professor at NUS Law — a position that she will continue in her new role – where she has been teaching the intensive module “Advanced Contract Law”. Past positions include a Senior Lectureship at Otago University in New Zealand and a Rhodes Visiting Research Fellowship at St Hilda’s College, Oxford.

Her books include a leading text on Contract Law (the 6th edition of which was recently published by OUP) and a major research project on the Contract Laws of Asia. Among other honours, she delivered the 2009 Hochelaaga Lectures at Hong Kong University, the Plenary Lecture at the US 12th Annual International Conference on Contract in 2017, and the Fourth Annual International and Comparative Law Quarterly Lecture as author of the best paper in 2013. She has addressed judicial colleges around the world, including the UK, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, and is an Editor of Chitty.
