NUS Law students swept the top prizes at this year’s B.A. Mallal Moot! At the Finals on 27 October 2017, Melody Lau ’19 was awarded the champion cup, with Tammie Khor ’19 coming in a close second, followed by Lee Jin Loong ’20 and Violet Huang ’20 as joint second runner-ups. Law May Ning ’19 was awarded the Best Memorial Prize.

On the bench was an esteemed panel of judges that comprised Judicial Commissioner Pang Khang Chau, Mr Ang Cheng Hock, Senior Counsel and partner at Allen & Gledhill LLP, and Associate Professor Eleanor Wong ’85, Vice Dean (Student Affairs).

The B.A. Mallal Moot is the oldest mooting competition in Singapore, dating back to 1964. It has been organised by the NUS Law’s Mooting and Debating Club since, and is proudly sponsored by Allen & Gledhill LLP. This year’s moot problem was about duty of care issues under tort law, in relation to self-driving cars.
