NUS Law wins at the 4th ADC-ICC Asia-Pacific Commercial Mediation Competition 2020

The Collaborative Dispute Resolution Club (CDRC) sent two teams to participate in the 4th ADC-ICC Asia-Pacific Commercial Mediation Competition that took place virtually from 30th Aug – 1 Sep 2020. Jointly organised by the Australian Disputes Centre and the International Chamber of Commerce, the competition is closely associated with the ICC Mediation Competition in Paris, and the winning team of the competition secures a reserved spot in the ICC Paris Mediation Competition.

This year, a record number of teams took part in the competition, and the two NUS teams faced stiff competition from institutions such as Macquarie University, University of Queensland, and University of Newcastle during the Preliminary Rounds.

Both teams would like to express their deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to their coaches, as well as the ICC Australia and Paris alumni who took time off their busy schedules to mentor them. The teams would also like to thank everyone who helped out during the preparation for the competition in one way or another, including the teams which participated in the ADR-ODR Online Mediation Competition who were excellent sparring partners.

In addition, the teams would like to give special thanks to Mr Marcus Lim ’12 and Professor Joel Lee, for their invaluable guidance and advice.
