The NUS Law team of Joelle Loy ’20, Violet Huang ’20, Adeline Tan ’20, and Daniel Ling ’20 emerged as champions at the 3rd International Carey Moot Court Competition! This was the first time NUS Law participated in the competition.

The team won the top prize in every possible category: Best Team Oral Arguments, Best Team and Best Written Memorial. In addition, Adeline Tan was also awarded Best Oralist.

The moot, which took place in Prague, Czech Republic, is based on the European Convention of Human Rights. It was inspired by the events of the Catalonian independence referendum, and the role of fake news in the American elections and Brexit referendum.

The team would like to thank their coaches Associate Professor Lim Lei Theng ’92 and Joshua Hiew ’17, as well as Professor Lucy Reed, Dr Marija Jovanovic, Colin Chow ’05, Victor Yao ’17, Parveen Kaur ’16 and Victor Leong ’16, for their help and guidance.
