Description
Analyzing the law and administration of intellectual property in a part of the world that is of increasing economic importance, this volume proposes a new “interoperability” agenda for international and regional integration of IP systems. The “ASEAN Way” is animated by respect for domestic sovereignty, sensitivity to national differences, and a recognition of the importance of cooperation – crucial ideas at a time when harmonization of IP seems an increasingly remote possibility. This collection will also enable the reader to compare the ASEAN model with other approaches to regional cooperation (EU and Latin America) and to examine the relevance of private international law to the interoperability agenda.
