Teaching Engagements
TEACHING ENGAGEMENTS
NUSCIA is committed to strengthening regional capacity in international arbitration through executive training, professional development, and academic collaboration. The Centre's teaching and training activities are designed to support practitioners, government officials, and emerging scholars across ASEAN and Asia, while contributing to the development of future leaders in the field.
Executive Education
The Centre offers a tiered suite of executive programmes comprising Foundation, Advanced, and Specialist tracks. These programmes provide structured training on core principles, procedural strategy, and sector-specific issues in areas such as energy, construction, technology, and investor–state arbitration. Delivered by leading practitioners and academics, the programmes combine doctrinal depth with practical application.
Visiting Fellows Programme
NUSCIA will host selected mid-career professionals from across ASEAN and the wider region for 3–6 month visiting fellowships. Fellows engage in supervised research, participate in Centre activities, and contribute to comparative or policy-oriented projects. The programme is designed to build regional expertise, foster professional networks, and support long-term capacity development.
Academic Integration
The Centre’s teaching and research initiatives will be aligned with the forthcoming Master of Advanced Studies in International Arbitration (M.A.S.I.A.), a novel postgraduate programme whose depth and specialisation exceed that of a general LL.M. degree. M.A.S.I.A. combines advanced doctrinal training with practical engagement in the Centre’s research agenda, enabling guest lectures, collaborative teaching, postgraduate research supervision, and opportunities for students to contribute to ongoing comparative and policy-oriented projects. This integration strengthens both the Centre’s pedagogical role and the academic mission of NUS Law.
