Research Centres

The greatest law schools not only offer rigorous legal training, they also lead on important debates over law and policy. Research Centres bring together faculty members and distinguished visitors from around the world, offering additional opportunities to students and tangible benefits to business, government and the community. Donations to our Research Centre programmes will help us toward our goal of making Singapore a global legal centre.

These Centres are an integral part of our vision to develop NUS Law into a centre of excellence for legal education and research in Asia. Funding is required for all the Centres to help to cover:

  • manpower costs for faculty, visiting faculty, research students, research and administrative support staff,
  • research costs,
  • costs of organising conferences, workshops and other events, and all related expenses,
  • costs for infrastructure, equipment and software, and other central services.

Fellowships

An endowed fellowship facilitates first-rate research and helps to promote the development of young outstanding academics. They conduct their work under guidance of senior faculty members. Through these mentorships, talented and committed young researchers are transformed into excellent scholars.

The minimum gift level to name a fellowship* is S$625,000*.

Faculty Research Fund

A faculty research fund supports faculty members as they explore important fields of study; funds their frontier research and help them to attract additional funding from other sources.

The minimum gift level to name a faculty research fund* is S$150,000*.
